Company Receives First-Place Safety Award in Less-Than-Truckload Division

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ‹ Oct. 2, 2008 ‹ Con-way Freight received a first-place fleet safety award at Tennessee Trucking Association's (TTA) Annual Convention. The less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc.

(NYSE: CNW) today announced that it was recognized by TTA in the Less-Than-Truckload 15 Million Miles and Over category for its exemplary safety record and practices. The awards were presented earlier this month at TTA's 78th Annual Convention, held at the Sandestin Hilton Resort in Destin, Fla.

Winners were selected based on miles driven, types of driving, number of accidents and other safety indicators. Awards were given out across eight categories in the Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload and Private Carrier divisions.
